Charles Darwin's theory was based on natural selection.

Darwin stated in his theory that parent gave offsprings with better features.

In essence he meant that some advantageous traits were passed on to the offspring.

The offsprings who inherited these features were the ones who would survive in the changing environment.

As for Mendel he stated that inheritance involves passing on of traits from the parent to the offspring.

These two ideas are related and when combined bring out the meaning and advantage of genetic inheritance.

The correct answer is thus :

Gregor Mendel, who determined genetic inheritance of traits

Charles Darwin, the famous biologist, hypothesized that any individuals would be adequately implemented for endurance than others and that those that were less provided would not endure.

He formulated this idea by work done by economist Robert Malthus who formed the Malthusian theory of Population where it was said that populations would soon grow beyond what could be sustained leading to a natural fall of the community.
