cos 60° = base/hypotenuse

1/2=6/h

h×1=6×2

h=12 m

let horizontal distance between building and object be x

therefore by Pythagoras theorem

6²+x²=12²

36+x²=144

x²=144-36

x²=108

x=√108

x=√2×2×3×3×3

x=2×3√3

x=6√3 m or 10.39 approx
