here is ur answer:

If a ∆ is right angled ∆ then it must obey Pythagoras theorem.

So, square of longest side should be equal to sum of squares of other two sides.

 {13}^{2}  =  {12}^{2}  +  {5}^{2} \\  \\ 169 = 144 + 25 \\  \\ 169 = 169 \\  \\

it obeys Pythagoras theorem, so it is right angled ∆
