Let n= 1, 2 and 3

Substitute the value of n in an=2n²+1

a1=2(1)²+1=2+1=3

a2=2(2)²+1=8+1=9

a3=2(3)²+1=18+1=19

Now

a2-a1= 9-3=6

a3-a2=19-9=10

Here, a2-a1≠a3-a2

Therefore, an = 2n²+ 1 is not an A.P.
