Step-by-step explanation:

If the points are collinear, then for any two points the equation of the line will be the same.

1) For points (-2,-1) and (-1,-4)

Equation of line is,

(y-y1)/(y2-y1) = (x-x1)/(x2-x1)

[y-(-1)]/[(-4)-(-1)] = [x-(-2)]/[(-1)-(-2)]

(y+1)/(-3) = (x+2)/(1)

y+1 = -3x - 6

3x+y = -7

2) For points (-2,-1) and (-4,-1)

[y-(-1)]/[(-4)-(-1)] = [x-(-2)]/[-4-(-2)]

(y+1)/(-3) = (x+2)/2

2y+2 = -3x -6

3x+2y = -8

so the given points are not colinear.
