Put x+1=0
x=-1put in given eqn
(-1)3-(-1)2-(-1)+1
-1-1+1+1
-2+2
=0hence (x+1) is a factor of given eqn

Hey,

x+1=0

Therefore,
x= -1

x³-x²-x+1
=> (-1)³-(-1)²-(-1)+1
=> -1-(+1)+1+1
=> -1-1+1+1
=> -2+2[Minus two(-2) and plus two (+2) gets cancelled]

Hence (x+1) is a factor
