aluminum hydroxide + sodium nitrate → aluminum nitrate + sodium hydroxide

Al(OH)3 + 3NaNO3 → Al(NO3)3 + 3NaOH

Aluminum hydroxide is the salt of aluminum with chemical formula \bold{\mathrm{Al}(\mathrm{OH})_{3}}.

Similarly, sodium nitrate is the salt of sodium with chemical formula \bold{\mathrm{NaNO}_{3}}. The reaction between Aluminum hydroxide ad sodium nitrate forms ‘aluminum nitrate’ and ‘sodium hydroxide’.

The balance chemical reaction can be written as:

\bold{\mathrm{Al}(\mathrm{OH})_{3}+3 \mathrm{NaNO}_{3} \rightarrow \mathrm{Al}\left(\mathrm{NO}_{3}\right)_{3}+3 \mathrm{NaOH}}

This is an example of double displacement reaction in which one part of molecule replace another.
