those chemical reaction in which heat energy is released during the reaction are called exothermic reaction
for example , light energy , electrical energy or sometime sound energy . This energy is due to change in bond energy,i.e., if bond energy of the reactants is greater than the product, the reaction will be exothermic.
Example - magnesium + oxygen to form magnesium oxide + heat.
I hope its helps you.
