ON MOVING LEFT TO RIGHT IN A PERIOD THE SIZE OF AN ATOM DECREASES

ON MOVING DOWN IN THE PERIODIC TABLE THE SIZE OF AN ATOM INCREASES

⭐When we move from left to right of periodic table the Metallic characters dec as there is no inc in atomic size and only num of electrons increase thus nuclear pull remains strong so its hard to lose electrons so non metallic characters increase⭐

⭐When we move down the group in periodic table the Metallic characters increase as there is inc in atomic size and num of shell increase thus nuclear pull becomes weak so its easy to lose electrons so non metallic characters decrease⭐
