First insert the zinc and copper electrodes into the potatoes, close to each other but not touching. Then use alligator clips to connect electrodes to the digital clock so that the voltage can be measured. The current will pass through the wires and activate the digital clock.

Observation

A digital multimeter can be used to measure the voltage of the current flow from the potatoes. On an average, a digital multimeter shows 1.2 volts of electricity between the electrodes. The result may vary during the experiment, it is recommended to measure for at least five times and get the average result. You have now created electricity by using a potato battery. The challenge is, however, to produce electricity in a larger amount for a longer time.
