Chief Economic Advisor of India and Marxist politician Ashok Mitra, recently passed away on May 1st, 2018.
He accepted the professorship in economics at the newly hooked up Indian Institute of control Calcutta. He turned into the leader economic adviser and later chairman of the agricultural fees commission, both of the government of India. He become finance minister of West Bengal from 1977–87. in the mid-Nineteen Nineties he have become a member of the Rajya Sabha and changed into chairman of the Parliament's standing Committee on industry and trade.
