Answer:

child Marriage is defined as a marriage of a girl or boy before the age of 18 and refers to both formal marriages and informal unions in which children under the age of 18 live with a partner as if married. Child marriage affects both girls and boys, but it affects girls disproportionately,

Child marriage violates children’s rights and places them at high risk of violence, exploitation, and abuse. India has the largest number of brides in the world – one-third of the global total.

Many factors can lead to child marriage or a forced marriage — from financial or food insecurity to cultural or social norms. Whatever the cause, child marriage compromises a child's development and severely limits her or his opportunities in life.

Hope this helped you.

Child marriage stunts holistic development of children in the following way -

• There is a legal age of marriage which is instructed by our constitution. The official age of marriage for a boy is 21 years or more and the official age of marriage for a girl is 18 years or more.

• Now,the marriage which occurs between the underage (with respect to the above mentioned age limitations) boy or girl is known as the child marriage.

• This child marriage is a curse for the social and personal development of the children because marriage leads them to the forceful participation in the wedlock life.

• Now,this unwanted wedlock life often becomes the hindrance in the path of gaining formal education or jobs which is not good for the victim children and the society because children don't get the chances of becoming independent in the society.

• In this way,the child marriage becomes a curse for the children in our society.
