Ever since economic liberalisation was kicked in, China has quite efficiently opened up its doors to economic activity on a mass scale. Foreign Companies have set up base and even the enterprising Chinese entrepreneurs have set up production units in the country. No wonder, the country is considered to be the fastest growing economy of the world. All this has largely been possible thanks to the Communist form of government, where decisions taken by the rulers are adopted without much debate or protest. While goods produced on a mass scale, commodity products as they are known in trade circles, meet the desired standards, Chinese products in the speciality category are not so well known for quality, unlike the South Korean, European or Japanese products.
The Chinese demography has also changed over the years with the one child per couple policy. But, there are certain sociological pitfalls of this step, which was adopted without any debate or protest.
