Given :  Chintu was very fond of orange juice and so he secretly took out a bottle containing 330 ml of orange juice from the fridge. In the first minute, he consumed half the contnets in the bottle. In the  part of the remaining content he consumed 1/(n+1)  in nth minute

To Find : How many ml of orange juice was remaining in the bottle after 10 minutes?

Solution:

Consumed in 1st minute 330/2

Remaining after 1st minutes =  330/2

Consumed in 2nd minute (330/2 )/(1/3)

1 - 1/3 = 2/3

Remaining after  2nd minute = (330/2 )/(2/3) = (330/3)

Consumed in 3rd minute (330/3 )/(1/4)

1 - 1/4 = 3/4

Remaining  after  3rd minute= (330/3 )/(3/4) = (330/4)

Remaining after n minutes = (330/(n + 1)

Hence remained after 10 minutes =  330/(10 + 1)

= 330/11

= 30 ml

orange juice  remaining in the bottle after 10 minutes = 30 ml
