chloroplast is an energy converting organelle because as we know ,chloroplast contains chlorophyll and due to chlorophyll plants are green ,and it is responsible for photosynthesis to occur and so,plants can convert sunlight into chemical energy.plants can not create energy without it .

konghong039: The chloroplast is the food producer in many plant and algae cells. It works by converting light into sugars that are carried throughout the plant, providing nutrients and energy. Each chloroplast contains chlorophyll molecules. The process of converting sunlight to food is called photosynthesis.
