Given:

The wavelength of a typical X-ray is 10^{-7}

The wavelength of the FM wave is 10^{2}

To Find:

The ratio of FM wave to X-ray wavelength

Solution:

As we know the ratio of two numbers is calculated as

a:b = a/b

According to question

The ratio of FM wave to X-ray wavelength

= wavelength of FM wave/wavelength of X-ray wave

=  10^{2}/ 10^{-7}

=10^{2-(-7)}  (when in a fraction the exponents get subtracted)

=10^{9}:1

Hence, the ratio of FM wave to X-ray wave is 10^{9}:1.
