It maybe because Cr has many unpaired electrons which helps in forming strong metallic bonds while Hg has no unpaired electrons so it does not show metallic bonds and liquifies at a lower temperature.

Cr has five unpaired d-electrons. Hence metallic bonds are strong. In Hg, there is absence of unpaired electrons and size is larger.
