so angle BDC and angle BCD are equal and those equals to 140/2= 70

and the quadrilateral EBCD is cyclic quadrilateral

so angle BED and BCD add up-to 180

so angle BED = 180-70=110

and triangle EBD is also an isosceles triangle

so angle y and angle EBD are equal

so y=(180-110)/2= 70/2=35
