hey!
1.oxidation ;it is the loss of electron during the reaction or when oxygen get added.
example of oxidation;
2Na + cl2 -----> 2nacl.
here na is oxidised with cl.
where as reduction is the process of gaining one more electron. or removal of oxygen..
example;
2na +cl2 ----> 2nacl.....

2.rancidity;it happens in food. it is causes by the unwanted oxidation of food.that results unpleasant smell as well as taste.
