            x^2-1/x=3

            x^2-1=3x

           x^2-3x-1=0

      Let the equation be of form ax^2+bx+c=0 where a=1, b= -3, c=-1

                                              Discriminant,b^2-4ac

                                                                       =(-3)^2-4(1)(-1)

                                                                       =9+4=13

             X= -b+ √b^2-4ac/2a                                                        x=-b-√b^2-4ac/2a                                                        

               = -3+√13/2                                                                       = -3-√13-2

       so x=-3+√13/2,-3-√13/2
