Least count : Ratio of pitch of screw gauge to the total number of divisions on the circular scale of screw gauge.

Backlash error : When circular scale reading undergoes some appreciable change resulting an error, then it is called backlash error.

Zero Error : When line of graduation and edge of the head scale doesn't coincide with the 0 of pitch scale, then an error occurs known as zero error.

Ratchet : Rachet is attached to the right hand end of thre screw gauge.

Utility : The screw can be rotated by rotating the rachet.
