The price of a car increases from Rs.250000 to rupees to 75000. Calculate the increase percentage?

I THINK YOU WANT TO SAY DECREASES IN PLACE OF INCREASES. BECAUSE IT IS DECREASING NOT INCREASING.

\:  \:  \:  \:  \huge</p><p>\orange{ \overbrace{ \red{\underbrace {\underbrace \color{lime}{\colorbox{black}{ {\red \:   {Required answer}}}}}}}}

price before decreasing = ₹250000

price after decreasing = ₹75000

So, we will calculate the decreasing percentage by first subtracting it so the difference would come out.

250000-75000

= ₹175000 after converting it to percentage.

STEPS TO FIND PERCENTAGE :-

Step I: First find the increase/decrease in value

II: Divide it by the original quantity

III: Multiply the fraction by 100 and put percent sign (%)

So, the percentage comes out

142.857143%

Bharat earns before the salary was increased= ₹45000

percentage of the salary increased = 10%

His monthly salary =10%

= ₹495000

= his new salary

The population of a town increases 10% .annually if the population this year is 66000 then what was it last year?

The population of town increases annually =10%

population this year= 66000

increase in the population this year = 10/100×66000

= 6600 answer

Question:-

1) The price of a car increases from Rs.250000 to rupees to 75000. Calculate the increase percentage?

Answer:-

To Find:-

  • The increase percentage

Given:-

  • Initial price of the car Rs. 2,50,000
  • New price of the car 2,75,000

Solution:-

We know that

Percentage increase =

New value - initial value/Initial value × 100

A . T . Q

 \bigg( \dfrac{275000 - 250000}{250000} \times 100 \bigg)\%

  = \bigg( \dfrac{25000}{250000} \times 100 \bigg)\%

 = \dfrac{250}{25} \%

 = 10\%

Hence, the percentage increase in the price of the car is 10%

Question:-

2) Bharat earns rupees 45000 this month salary has increased by 10% .Calculate his current monthly salary after the increase?

Answer:-

To Find:-

  • The current monthly salary after the increase

Given:-

  • Initial salary = Rs.45000
  • Percentage increase = 10%

Solution:-

Increase in salary:-

= Rs.45000 \times  \dfrac{10}{100}

 = 4500 \times 1

 = Rs.4500

step-by-step explanation:

Salary after increase:-

= ( Initial Salary + Increased salary )

A . T . Q

= Rs. ( 45,000 + 4500 )

= Rs. 49,500

Hence,

Bharat's current monthly salary is Rs. 49,500

Question:-

3) The population of a town increases 10% .annually if the population this year is 66000. Then what was it last year?

Answer:-

To Find:-

  • Last year's population

Given:-

  • Increase in the population = 10%
  • Given, this year's population = 66,000

Solution:-

Let the population of the town last year be 100

step-by-step explanation:

Increase in the population = 10%

Population after 1 year ( this year )

= 100 + 10

= 110

If the population of this year is 110 then, the population of the last year = 100

A . T . Q

The population this is 66,000, then the population of the last year

  = \dfrac{100}{110} \times 66000

 = 60000

Hence, last year, the population was 60,000.

▪→ Key Concepts ←▪

  • Percentage decrease = Initial value - New Value/Initial value × 100

  • Percentage = one quantity / Another quantity × 100
