plays an important role in election of the panchayat members. It makes the panchayat fulfill its role and responsibiliteis. any plans that the panchayat wants to be implemented are first approved by the gram sabha. It also acts as a check on the panchayat and prevents it from misusing its power.

ZILLA PARISHAD
implements the plans of the state government. It looks after the health, education, safety, etc of the citizens. they also advice the panchayat samities. they approve the plans and budgets of the panchayat samities.
