In the short poem ‘Homeless’, Vikram Seth describes the feelings of a person who does not possess a home. A homeless person has to be always on the move. He is always bitten by the bug of worry. Worry about the home he has to keep on searching for as he doesn’t own a place.

Seth emphasises that he needs a home especially to observe the changing seasons without feeling threatened of having to find a place to live. Each season has its beauty and threat. One can observe its beauty peacefully from one’s home. One can also remain sheltered from its wrath by residing in a protective house. These observations are referred to as ‘review seasons’.
