If I were the author of the short story The Lost Child, I would make sure that the boy reunites with his parents and have a happy ending.

Explanation:

  • The short story The Lost Child by Mulk Raj Anand tells the story of a small boy who had gone to a fair with his parents.
  • At first, the constant call of "come, child, come"from his parents made sure he stays within range of his parents.
  • But amidst the busy fair, the call began to fade as he was too distracted by the numerous things and attractions he saw around him.
  • Once he couldn't locate his parents, his interest in those attractions fade away. He only wanted his parents.
  • Even when the young man who had heard his cries tried to distract him by trying to please him with the attractions, he only cried about his parents.
  • The story ends with an incomplete ending, without no guarantee of the child being united with his parents.
  • Supposing I had written the story, I will make sure that the story has a happy ending. For I want the small boy to be united with his parents, and make everyone happy.
  • Besides, the parents would have searched for their son ocne they realized he's been lost.
  • So, if I were the author of the short story, I would end it on a happy note, with the parents reunited with their lost son through the help of the young man who found the boy.

If I had been the author of the story, I would make sure that the story has a happy ending. As the child was lost, his parents also might been searching for him when they realised that their child was not with them. The kind man also helped the child to recognize his parents among the crowd. At the end, the child was reunited with his parents.
