1 ) Mobile animal herders were not necessarily a threat to town life, because with the people living in towns, they needed to exchange young animals, cheese, leather and meat in return for grain and metal tools. However, they had conflicts with the people living in agricultural villages.

2 )Scholars generally agree that the earliest form of writing appeared almost 5,500 years ago in Mesopotamia Early pictorial signs were gradually substituted by a complex system of characters representing the sounds of Sumerian (the language of Sumer in Southern Mesopotamia) and other languages.

3 ) Some basic features of the Roman economy that make it look quite modern are:

  • Economic infrastructure: The Roman Empire had strong infrastructure in the form of harbours, mines, brickyards, etc.
  • Trade: Trade was an important aspect of the Roman economy. The Roman Empire was crisscrossed with trade routes.

4 ) Women of all classes began working in factories. It helped them in getting financial independence and self-esteem. But their wages for the same hour of work were low in comparison to those of men.

5 ) Americans explored the land and extended the boundaries, because of this the native American People were forced to move, the native people after wondering and travelling reached a boundary and this boundary were the natives reached was known as frontier.

7 ) The Power Loom, overtaking all UK factories

The invention of the Power Loom effectively increased the output of a worker by over a factor of 40. It was one of the most important inventions of the Industrial Revolution. It was introduced in 1784 by Edmund Cartwright who built the very first working machine in 1785.

8 ) The Industrial Revolution impacted the environment. The world saw a major increase in population, which, along with an increase in living standards, led to the depletion of natural resources. The use of chemicals and fuel in factories resulted in increased air and water pollution and an increased use of fossil fuels.

9 ) Economic Expansion in Roman Empire

Wheat, wine and olive-oil were traded and consumed in huge quantities, and they came mainly from Spain, the Gallic provinces, North Africa, Egypt and, to a lesser extent, Italy, where conditions were best for these crops.

10 ) Ur was a major Sumerian city-state located in Mesopotamia, founded circa 3800 BCE. Cuneiform tablets show that Ur was a highly centralized, wealthy, bureaucratic state during the third millennium BCE. Ur was uninhabited by 500 BCE.
