The matter can be classified in two ways -

• Physical Classification

• Chemical Classification

1. Based on the physical classification, matter is found into three states (generally) - (i) Solid (ii) Liquid (iii) Gas. Also two more states are there - Bose Einstein Condensate and Plasma State.
2. Based on chemical classification of matter it is of two types - (i) Pure Substances (ii) Mixtures. The pure substances are further of two types - Elements and Compounds. And the mixtures are homogenous and heterogeneous.
