Reserved:-These are extensively set up for conservation an breeding of the flora and fauna of different types. More than half of Indian forests are reserved. They are found in MP, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand.
Protected:-They just stop the depletion of existing flora and fauna. Almost one-third Indian forests belong to this category. They are found in Bihar, Orissa, Maharashtra.
Unclassed:- They are other forests and wastelands that belong to govt., communities and individuals. They are in all North-eastern states and Gujarat.
