Acids can be classified into three main types on the basis of the basiscity.

1. Monobasic acids ⇒Those acids which when disolved in water produces 1 Hydronium ion per molecules of the acids are called as Monobasic acids.

For examples, Hydrochloric acid,Hydrogen Flouride.

HCl + H₂O. ------→ H₃O⁺ + Cl⁻

Dibasic acids ⇒Those acids which when disolved in water produces the 2 Hydronium ions per molecules of the acids are called as Dibasic acids.

For example, Sulphuric acid.

H₂SO₄ + H₂O -------→ H₃O⁺+ HSO₄-
HSO₄- + H₂O -------→ H₃O⁺ + SO₄²⁻

Tribasic acid ⇒Those acids which when disolved in water produces the 3 Hydronium ions per molecules of the acids are called as tribasic acids.
For example, Nitric Acid.

H₃PO₄ + H₂O ---------→ H₃O + H₂PO₄⁻
H₂PO₄- + H₂O --------→ H₃O⁺ + HPO₄²-
HPO₄²⁻ + H₂O -------→ H₃O⁺ + PO₄³⁻

Hope it helps.
