Hey! I have already answered the similar question. (I will answer again)

  • Coelom is actually the body cavity between the body wall and gut wall, lined by mesoderm.
  • Animals which do not possess coelom are aceolomates. (Platyhelminthes)
  • In Aschelminthes, the body cavity (coelom) is not lined by mesoderm but present as scattered pouches. They are Pseudocoelomates.
  • Animals which possess coelom are Coelomates. (Annelids to Chordates)

*Coelomates are of two types.

  • Schizocoelomates : Schizocoel is formed by splitting of mesodermal mass. (Annelids, Arthropods, Molluscs)
  • Enterocoelomates : Enterocoelom is formed by fusion of gut pouches during embryonic stage. (Echinodermata, Hemichordata, Chordata Phyla)

  • Also, coelomates can be grouped into protostomes and deuterostomes (based on the fate of blastopore)
  • In protostomes, blastopore develops into mouth.

                 Arthropods,annelids and molluscs

  • In deuterostomes, blastopore develops into anal opening.

                   Echinoderms,Hemichordates,Chordates

hope it helps...!
