Alcohols are compounds having -OH functional groups. Alcohol in which the carbon to which the -OH group is added has only one carbon attached to it is called primary alcohol, if two carbons are attached to it, it is called secondary alcohol.
If there are three carbons attached to it then the alcohol is called tertiary alcohol. The tertiary carbon structure is the most stable structure due to the presence of hyper conjugating structures.
