Climbers are the form of plants whose stem are weak, so they can not stand by their own and needs support of solid things like, another strong plant, wall, or anything solid to grow.
As climbers are also form of plants, plants make their own food by help of photosynthesis, that's why plants are also known as autotrophs.
For the process of photosynthesis most of the plants needs sunlight.
Without sufficient amount of sunlight, plants can not manufactured carbohydrates which are essential from their own growth.
