Well direction is always something relative. That is, it varies with the observer and his/her point of view. So it's better to know why is the direction so, the way it is in each of the cases.

A clockwise current will produce a magnetic S pole while anticlockwise would produce a magnetic N pole.

Explanation:

Now we know magnetic field lines are directed from the N to S pole. So suppose you keep a circular loop on a horizontal surface n look perpendicular down to it, then, if u see a clockwise current u must know its the same as a magnetic S pole and hence field lines will terminate onto it, i.e. the magnetic field would be directed into the loop perpendicular to the horizontal surface. Again if u see an anticlockwise current in the loop after making the same observation, then you must know its a magnetic N pole and hence files lines will begin from it and so the field will be directed perpendicular to the loop and out of the plane.

However u don't always need to keep all this in mind but rather just follow the Right Hand Palm rule which would give the same result ofcourse.
