Cnidoblasts are specialized cell structures that are present in coelenterates that contain stinging cells called as nematocysts. It is coiled threadlike structure, which helps to capture, anchorage prey. It contains poison that paralyzes the prey and it helps to hold them easily. It is more commonly used by the hydra to capture prey.

Cnidoblast have special stinging cells present in phylum cnidaria (coelenterata- jellyfish,sea anemone) which are used by jellyfish to anchor(fix,secure) themselves on a surface.
