CO is stable than SiO because :
- si has an additional valence shell that make it larger.
- addition of a shell in Si makes difference in their energies.
- and most important is that, Si has oxidation state only +4 therefore it can be stable only with TWO oxygen atoms. While C has oxidation state +4, -4 and -2. therefore it can easily form a stable bond with oxygen.
