coal does not burn by producing flame why

because coal dont get vapourised during burning. Flame is produced only when substances vapourises on burning

the candle that burn into flame have water vapour, that when we lit it the water vapour move upward for which the candle give flame.But in the case of coal it doesn't contain water vapour, so that it also doesnot give flame.
