Carbon is primary element present in Coal and Diamond. They are formed and found under earth. Though their basic formation process is under high temperature and pressure but their abundance vary. Like coal is found in earth crust where as diamond is found in earth mantle. Coal deposits are in a stratified manner but diamonds are found in some parts per billion of rock. Now coming to their uses, diamonds r primarily used in ornaments and these are expensive. Though coal is inexpensive as compared to diamond , but these are used in thermal power plant to generate electricity. Nearly 60% of India’s power generation is from coal and it will be continued for next few decades. And the importance of electricity in our daily life is not needed to be explain. So, as coal is black in colour and importance based expensive like diamond, it's known as BLANK DIAMOND.
