During double fertilization and triple fusion events, one of the egg forms the zygote whereas the other egg forms the endosperm. The "endosperm provides nourishment" to the growing zygote.  

After this fertilization, mitosis takes place which gives rise to a number of free nuclei that forms the liquid endosperm.  

This liquid endosperm has high nutrient contents such as potassium, calcium, magnesium and vitamin C to support the developing zygote.
