Okay I had a laugh at this.

For those not in the know-how, this is a dialogue taken from the Malayalam film Naattuvishesham, and it is spoken by the actor Mukesh in order to bamboozle a few people with his faux-English skills. It has since become a popular meme.

This is the dialogue:

“The coefficient of linear expansion is the proportion of the haemoglobin in the atmosphere! But why? But why?! Full many a gem of purest serene lay underneath the unfathomed ocean unblo(Side note: the “but why” has since become an accepted part of my vocabulary.)

But there is more to this dialogue than meets the eye - sure, it's nonsensical, but that second part?

It's a modified quotation of the fourteenth stanza of Thomas Gray's very very famous Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard.[1]ssomed! But why?! BUT WHY?!”
