Ratio of coffee : Chicory = 5 : 2
⇒ 7kg of the mixture will be made up by 5 kg of coffee and 2 kg of chicory
Find the cost price of 7 kg of the mixture:
5 kg of coffee = 250 x 5 = Rs 1250
2 kg of Chicory = 75 x 2 = Rs 150
Total cost of the 7kg = 1250 + 150 = Rs 1400
Find the cost price of 1 kg of the mixture:
7 kg = Rs 1400
1 kg = 1400 ÷ 7 = Rs 200
Find the profit :
Selling Price of 1 kg = Rs 230
Cost Price of 1 kg = Rs 200
Since Selling Price > Cost Price ⇒ It is a profit
Profit = 230 - 200 = Rs 30
Find the profit percentage:
Profit percentage = profit/cost price x 100
Profit percentage = 30/200 x 100 = 15%
Answer: The mixture is sold with a profit of 15%
