Cold War is a condition of neither war nor peace, its a state of Uneasy Peace!
After the Second World War, both America and Russia emerged as the World powers. Since America dropped the atom bombs in Japan, Russia feared that one day America will prove to be the most powerful country. Hence cold war started between USA and Russia. Actually Cold War is a state of extreme political unfriendliness.
The Third World war was almost going to start because Russians sent some missiles to Cuba, a place from where Russia could be in the best position from threatening USA. However, it is our good luck, that it did not start.
