Collect flowers like hibiscus, Rose:
Method of preparation:
1. Collect 10-12 flowers
2.Remove the stigma and and detach leaves and just take petals
3.Put them in container and pour approximately 6ml of ethanol or surgical spirit
4.Crush the petals using mortar
5. Filter the solution and use it as indicator.
or
1. Collect 10-12 flowers
2. Just take the petals and boil in Hot water after cooling filter it. It can be used as Indicator.
observation:
1.. Hibiscus petal Indicator - acidic substance - turns towards dark red. or magenta color.
Basic substance- Turns towards dark green.(almost black)
2.Rose Peals indicator : Turns red in acidic medium
Turns blue in basic medium.
