The arctic tundra has very little population due to its low temperatures and low vegetation. The people that inhabit this biome made a living from mining, fishing, hunting and nomadic herding. Most people herded animals for a living more specifically the sheep. The most known tribe that inhabits the tundra is the Inuit tribe. This beautiful biome attracts people from different parts of the world because of its unique animals and attraction parks.

In the past, igloos were lived in during the winter months and various animals' skins were wore to keep them warm. Now people in the north wear 'normal' clothes and live in homes like everywhere else.  The arctic tundra is a great place for mountain climbing and hiking. Thanks to the Biology 11 class at Attagoyuk Ilisavik High School in Pangnirtung, Nunavut, Canada for the contemporary update.
