There are three types of farming get practised in India –

1. Shifting farming: This type of farming is mainly done by tribal people by cleaning some area in forest. The trees in that area are burned and crops get grown.

2. Plantation farming: This type of farming was started in 19th century by the Britishers

3. Subsistence farming: This type of farming is done by most of the farmers.
