Words such as thin, steady, and light can be used as a collocative term with the word drizzle. A sequence of words or terms that accompany each other more often than would be seen accidentally is called a collocation.
A collocation is also now considered as a sub-type of phraseme. For eg; the term strong coffee is preferred over the equivalently-meaning term of powerful coffee.
English is more effectively used by those who have an awareness of the particular feature of collocation, which in simple terms can be said as an understanding of what words go together, both spoken as well as written.
