Colonialism or the British rule in India was prevelent during 1750s to 1950s. It was a period where India went through many changes.....however all of them weren't good.
......In the case of environment....it wasn't good at all. The British exploited fertile agricultural land for their benefits and reduced fertility by bringing in some poor methods. Also growing English requirement of wood for railways and army was completed by cutting forests in India.
Also this involved hunting of animals. All and all ....these things led to an unbalanced ecosystem and affected India's environment adversely.
