Because nitrophynile is react with nitrogen

Anonymous: it is acidic because nitro group attached to phenol in nitro phenol is electron withdrawing group and hence it increases the polarity of OH bond .................this is the correct ans
SYED110: if i think ..b'coz nitro(grp) is electron widthdrawing in nature hence it increases the polarity on -(OH) gr which makes it easier to release( H) ...this makes nitro phenol more acidic..
Anonymous: ya this is the right ans bro
Anonymous: I am glad u came to know the right ans

phenol has an acidic proton due to stabilization of the phenoxide ion by resonace.the negative charge on the phenoxideion is deloclalized into the benzene. this effect is common to nitrophenol too. THANKS.
