Colonisation accompanied modernization is a true statement as if taking example of Indian history and colonisation by British we observe that the socially and technologically backward India got many reforms after the modern British tried to bring modernization as they wanted it to be suitable for their settlement. British started railways in India where people used elephants and carts for travelling. Cultivation of coffee was also an idea of British.
With British, Western mannerisms , habbits, dressing sense etc also came in trend and led to modernization in India.
