colours are not identified in dim light. why ?

hi....,
In dim light . our eye puple size become big. then it works able to see object . so, our eye not identified colour in dim light.

Answer:

The retina in human eyes consists of rods and cones which are the photoreceptors. Cones are sensitive to bright light and are capable of color vision. Rods are not sensitive to color and are responsible for vision in low or dim light. Hence we usually do not see bright colors in dim light
