Match the following :

1. A bird sitting on a tree \longrightarrow Position of rest

\longmapsto When the body is not changing its position with respect to a reference point, then it is called that the body is at rest. A bird sitting on a tree is not changing its position with respect to the reference point, so it is at rest.

2. Speed \longrightarrow Scalar Quantity

\longmapsto Scalar quantities are those quantities which have only magnitude. Speed has only magnitude, thus it a scalar quantity.

3. Vector \longrightarrow Velocity

\longmapsto Vector quantities are those quantities which have magnitude as well as direction. Velocity has both magnitude and direction, thus it a vector quantity.

⠀⠀____________________

1. Things we can see, touch and feel \longrightarrow Object

\longmapsto Objects are non-living things that we can see, touch and feel. Example : Chair, table and so on.

2. A fixed point in the neighbourhood \longrightarrow Reference point

3. Point (0,0) \longrightarrow Origin
